After his mother's death, high school senior Scott Nielsson doesn't think life can get any worse. Stranded in a new town with his accountant father, Scott resigns himself to schoolwork and solitude. Then, the world as he knows it changes forever. A pathogen ravages nearly 100% of the human population overnight, rendering victims completely incapable of speech. Scott doesn't know why or how, but he is left completely immune. Retaining his ability to speak, Scott must find his place in a world completely different from the one he knows, where no one is left to talk with.
