After a tragic event in rural India, Kishore an orphaned survivor of a murdered couple is forced to pick up the pieces of his broken life in the metropolitan city of Patna. Thousands of miles away in California, Sean Persaud and his American wife Susan have compelling reasons to trace the roots of Sean?s family. They do not know much about his ancestors except that their names were Ram Persaud and Sandra Debbie. They had migrated from India to Guyana in 1860 as indentured laborers.
