A world renowned professor from the Highland's University has invented a prototype weather machine that can create sunny summers in the British Isles. Or make it rain in drought-stricken California. Or stop glacial melt in the Arctic. The technology is getting more than a lot of attention. In fact, it is beating all records for procuring grants from companies all over the world. But when the grant money starts to dry up for other programs, some of the other professors are not very happy. And when one of them meets with a violent death, Mick Malone and Jock McDuff are hired by Police Scotland to help solve the crime.
