Forgiveness and reconciliation are always possible. Eugene Eberly's boyhood was one of darkness and shadows. Physically and verbally abused by his father, farm life for Eugene at an early age was difficult. One quiet afternoon, in the stillness of a dark basement hallway, he looked at a gun and thought, "That right there would be a better way out." He was twelve years out. Eugene persevered and eventually got married. He was determined to be a better husband and father to his boys, and for a while, by his own will power, he succeeded. But the shadows returned, and soon he found himself doing the unimaginable: abusing his own wife and children. This is an incredible life story of a man who, with the help of God, a loving wife, and forgiving children, eventually found his way out of the shadows.
