The novel begins with Marina, a dentist, fed up with the sedimented corruption in Nigeria, departs for the United Kingdom to begin anew. Surmounting both the cold and cultural shock, she succumbs however to the grievous daily drudgery of London life. Suffers a sudden burnout both personally and professionally. This leads not only to a life affirming journey of self discovery, but also to an encounter with Kirsten, a drug addict of aristocratic lineage. Tyler, Kirsten's 5 year old son and James a former psychiatrist. Their shared tragedies and triumphs binding them inextricably together in the most unexpected way. An inspiring portrayal of both the strength and weakness of the human mind in the presence of loss, love and loyalty.
