Kingsley, a dappled dachshund, loves to go outside and paint. But that all changes when a pair of dogs make fun of his dappled coat. After his experience, he fears going outside and soon discovers that he has grown a pet monster. His new monster convinces him that it is far safer to stay home and avoid the outside. With the help of his friend, he must choose whether to keep his new monster and stay at home forever or to leave it behind and enjoy the outdoors come whatever.
