Beyond Me Amar

These poems are about the countless nights I couldn't sleep-

the things that wouldn't leave my mind however hard I tried to avoid them.

These words are the inner me reminding myself-

that I am wasting my life in an eight-hour job,

that I am merely existing and not living.

These are the reminders which told me that I was forgetting that I am mortal.

I hope this becomes a reminder to you too-

to live

to be.
