About This Book: This book is a collection of poems and paragraphs expressing how I feel about being born and growing up in the absence of my father. My mother has raised my brother and myself single-handedly. I have written this book because I believe that there are millions of children and even adults around the world who feel the way I do and it is important that our feelings are heard. About the Author: Labeka Obua was born on 21st December 1999, in Birmingham, UK. Her mother, Dr Stivelia Kachilele is originally from Malawi. Labeka lives in Birmingham, UK with her mother and big brother, Undi. At the time of writing this book Labeka was 10 years old and in year 5 at Nonsuch Primary School in Woodgate Valley, West Midlands, England, United Kingdom, where she has been since reception. Her favorite subjects are literacy, mathematics and reading. In reading she reached stage 16 while in year 4 and completed it in year 5. Labeka was introduced to poetic writing while in year 4. She is the author of the poem "Birthdays" in Little Laureates 2008, verses from the West Midlands, Edited by Claire Tupholme. Labeka also wrote the poem "Guilt" in Poetry Explorers 2009, verses from the West Midlands, Edited by Donna Samworth; and the Mini Saga "A Big Space Away from Home" in Mini Sagas- Fictional Fun Shropshire & The West Midlands (in publication in a Young Writer's Anthology).
