Complex programming modules can be built in a lot of ways, NI LabVIEW provides a tool for Engineers and Scientists To create packages, andalso to create representations of the system flow; thus allowing programming to be done using other languages. This book provides a conceptual design of a control system using LabVIEW for a rapid prototyping machine. The rapid prototyping machine is controlled with a user friendly display interface. It allows for dynamic changes to be made during the design process. National Instruments LabVIEW has been used to design the control system of the rapid prototyping machine's movement, translation speed, carriage speed, and the temperature of the extruder head. Different LabVIEW programming modules were developed to control a variety of devices that are part of the rapid prototyping system. These devices include a thermocouple probe, a heating filament for the ABS spool for the rapid prototyping machine, three stepper motors and all Solid models were modified from existing designs and a detailed product design sheet was developed along with a failure mode effect analysis for the final conceptual design.
