Day to day numbers of newer drugs and their formulations either in single or in combined dosage forms are marketed. Combination of ciprofloxacin and metronidazole is one of new combination used in crohn?s disease. This combination is not official in any pharmacopoeia; hence official method of analysis is not available. So it was thought of interest to develop simple, sensitive, specific, accurate, precise and economical spectroscopic as well as chromatographic analytical methods for the estimation of these two drugs in combined dosage forms.
