The Nature of True Virtue, which has survived about three centuries, is considered by many as the work which has greatly contributed to the Christian theology. As for this work, Tim Keller once praised the great value of this book as one of the most profound treatises on social ethics ever written. And, it is extensively studied by many modern theologians such as John Piper who credited the work with awakening in him a "deep longing to be a good man".
