Ten years on from the end of the last series, the Shipmans and the Wests come together to spend Christmas in Barry. While Bryn (Rob Brydon) prepares Christmas dinner for everyone, Gavin and Stacey (Mathew Horne and Joanna Page) attempt to reignite their relationship with a trip down memory lane, while Pam (Alison Steadman) resents not spending Christmas at home in Essex, and Smithy (Corden) awaits the arrival of his new girlfriend, Sonia (Laura Aikman).
