This album is a collection of original sacred songs that will inspire anyone along their faith journey. Mark Whitley grew up on a small farm in Southern Kentucky, working with his family and listening to roots music that was born in that region of the country. After spending years with a touring band playing Americana music, Mark found himself writing about the road that had led him around the world and back to the farm. These songs are really just prayers and passages from scripture, simple songs with deep meaning. Many of these were written to accompany the St. Thomas Mass, a prayer service brought to Kentucky from Helsinki, Finland, meant to draw you near to God and open a door to a deeper spiritual life. From "Draw Me Near", an intimate prayer for anyone who has found grace amid brokenness, to "That They All May Be One", an uplifting song of unity through communion, with a choral ending that will leave you with goose bumps, this album is a fresh take on ancient spirituality.
