Born in New York and raised in Brooklyn, This release contains **John Coltrane's** classic album *'The Master'* along with the other four tunes recorded the same day that complete the studio session. The CD showcases the leader in a quintet format backed on most of the tracks by the **Miles Davis** rhythm section of that time, plus trumpeter **Wilbur Harden**. Despite a relatively brief career saxophonist John Coltrane was among the most important and most controversial figures in Jazz.
